Australian terrorist wants greater freedom
Central Asia News.Net Thursday 20th November, 2008
Australian man, David Hicks, who was convicted of terrorism offences in the US, has broken his self-imposed silence and called on police to relax stringent controls over his freedom.
Hicks is the only former inmate of Guantanamo Bay convicted of terrorism offences.
Since his release from the US military prison, Hicks has been living in Australia, where a court-imposed order has seen him adhering to a midnight-to-dawn curfew, restrictions on his travel and a requirement to report to police twice a week.
In a recorded interview, released through the Australian rights group GetUp, Hicks said the restrictions were blocking his return to normality.
He said: 'I don't know what the future holds for me. The only thing I do know is that until the control order is lifted, I will not be able to get on with my life.'
Hicks was returned to Australia from the US military prison after pleading guilty to terrorism charges.
He spent a short time in an Australian jail before being released last December.
Hicks agreed to a gag order barring him from talking about his experiences for a year.
The order ended in March.
He was captured in Afghanistan in late 2001 and spent five years in Guantanamo before becoming the first person to be sentenced under the war crimes tribunals created by the Bush administration.
Hicks admitted training with al Qaeda and meeting its leader Osama bin Laden, whom he described as 'lovely.'

Dave babe, where were you captured and what were you doing there? - Pity you could not die as a martyr for Islam and Al Qaeda. I wonder what the Muslim Hell is like? - You would surely end up there. - Forget the “Countless virgins renewed each morning for eternity” - It’s a misogynist’s fantasy... I cant believe a dinky-die (sic) Aussie bloke would fall for all that balderdash! - Sorry you feel hard done by... Tough it out, you could still be rotting in Cuba.

Give up the war
the war on terror is useless. Where are the forces of the US to swoop upon the evil terrorists who killed 180 people in India the other day? “last ditch effort for cheap oil and government military spending” is all it is.

The US justice system deals in “plea bargains"whereby people even if inocent will plead guilty to anything in order to avoid a possible death sentence.
Americans are so used to this that they think their Justice system is working fine because convictions are made .
Most any prisoner in guantanomo after many years would make such a plea bargain.
Waterboarding, shipment to abu graib ,whatever, or plea bargain -choose now.
What would you choose?
The sham “worst of the worst “claim is looking piss poor these days.
Even the supercriminal archterrorst car driver for Bin laden gets out soon .
