CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 18 (PIA)--Recognizing strong linkages and connectivity in touching the lives of their beneficiaries, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 honored its partner agencies to highlight its 69th Anniversary, February 18, here.
With their huge contribution to the department's success in implementing programs, projects, and services, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Navy (PN), and Philippine National Police (PNP) received DSWD's Salamat Po Awards.
Among the heads of offices who were recognized include MGen Franco Nemesio Gacal of AFP, Asec. Felix Castro of TFBM, PBGen Rolando Anduyan of PNP, Dir. Rosauro Arnel Gonzales, Jr. of OCD, LTC Derrick Ablog of PAF, Commo. Antonio Palces of Naval Forces, LtCol Andres Soriano, Col Jose Maria Cuerpo II, Col Ferdinand Barandon, and BGen Generoso M. Ponio.
Along with these agencies, DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista said, "Being the lead agency in social protection, the DSWD has developed and implemented various initiatives that are innovative and responsive to the emerging needs of the various sectors of society towards the improved well-being and quality of life."
Bautista emphasized that the partnerships exist to empower the poor, disadvantaged and the vulnerable sectors and to help them be reintegrated back to the society.
"In this way we could achieve our goal for all filipinos to have greater social economic resiliency as envisioned by the Philippine Development Plan," the secretary added.
For her part, DSWD Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga said it is overwhelming to know that Filipinos felt the department's programs, projects, and services and they were able to stir the lives of their beneficiaries especially with the aid of other agencies.
"Sa loob ng 69 na taon, patuloy po nating napapatunayan na tayong lahat ay may pusong handang maglingkod nang may malasakit, kalinga at pagmamahal (For 69 years, we have continuously proved that we have the heart ready to to serve with concern, care and love). That is why there is no doubt that in the recent Pulse Asia survey, DSWD is one of the top performing agencies of our country," Libang said.
With their selfless personnel and supportive partners, Libang assured the public that DSWD will continue to serve the poor, people with diffilculties, and the abused. (RTP/PIA10)
