TASHKENT, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A container with 5,000 tons of fuel caught fire at an oil depot near the Uzbek capital here, with no casualties reported, the Emergency Situations Ministry said Thursday.

The fire occurred around noon during repair works at the depot in Chinaz district, said the ministry, adding that 14 rescue crews were mobilized to the site and the situation is now under control.

Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov visited the oil depot to assess the incident and the measures taken to eliminate its consequences, it said.

A thorough investigation into the incident will be conducted, according to the ministry.
