BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

KAMPALA -- Uganda's Health Ministry on Tuesday registered 449 new COVID-19 cases in the six-day period through Monday, taking the national tally to 38,534.

A total of 322 new recoveries were recorded in the East African country, bringing the nationwide recoveries to 13,405, the statement said.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia on Wednesday confirmed seven more imported COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the country to 448 to date, said a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement.

The new cases were detected on Cambodian migrant workers returning from Thailand recently via land borders, the statement said.

ULAN BATOR -- Nearly two-thirds of COVID-19 patients in Mongolia have now recovered, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Wednesday.

Thirty-nine more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals in Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator, taking the total recoveries to 1,033, Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the surveillance department of the NCCD, said during a daily press conference.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 10,595,660 on Wednesday as 13,823 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the federal health ministry.

According to the official data, the death toll mounted to 152,718 with 162 new deaths.
