5.3-magnitude quake hits 60 km WNW of Murghob, Tajikistan -- USGS

BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 60 km WNW of Murghob, Tajikistan, at 2114 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 140.1 km, was initially determined to be at 38.32 degrees north latitude and 73.30 degrees east longitude.
