5.5-magnitude quake hits northwestern Uzbekistan -- GFZ

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted northwestern Uzbekistan at 2040 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 40.37 degrees north latitude and 63.17 degrees east longitude.
